Whether the hot weather outside knows it or not, yesterday (September 22) marked the official beginning of Fall 2016! That means we’re technically in the season of light jackets, colorful leaves, pumpkins, gourds, dark mornings and early nights.
For summer fans this might be a bummer; but for anyone looking for a break from all the humidity—maybe a little hot apple cider—it’s a welcome change of pace.
One other sign that it’s finally fall? School’s back in session!
Depending on your schedule, this is either a blessing or an added stress to your daily routine. For any parent whose your kids go straight to an after-school activity like soccer or band, or are regularly in the habit of beating them home from work, it can sometimes be a nightmare trying to figure who is where and when.
But if you’ve got an interactive home security system, there is one way to tell if your kids have successfully made it home from school!
As long as your children have access to disarm your alarm system, you can customize your Alarm.com app to send you notifications—via push or text—whenever your system is disarmed. That means as soon as your child walks into the house and enters their user code, your smart phone will be alerted of the event. And just like that, you have the peace of mind to know that he or she made it home safe—and on schedule.
Simply log-in to your account online and click on the Notifications tab. There are plenty of customizable options, allowing you to tailor your system to fit your specific needs.
But wait, things get even more convenient with two or more kids! Once you’re logged in, you can also assign each kid his or her own personal user code, that way you can track on your app exactly which child is coming in when!
Of course, this is a great feature to utilize in any situation where multiple people have access to disarm the same system. It’s a handy way to keep track of who’s coming and going, and when you’re talking about the safety of your family and home, it’s never a bad idea to be as aware as possible!
